There are various ways you can help us.

Gift Aid

Government legislation means that your donations can now be worth MORE - at no additional cost to you. Since the 6th April 2000 charities have been able to reclaim tax that you have paid on all gifts made after that date. It costs you nothing and it is easy to arrange. Providing you are an income tax payer all you need to do is to give us permission to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on the amount of your donation. You only need to do this once and we can continue to claim the tax on any donations you make in the future until you tell us to stop.

There is no commitment to make further donations and no minimum amount whenever you do wish to donate. There is no obligation for you to participate in this scheme but if you do it means that the Trust can reclaim 22p for every £1 you donate. Following the recent Budget announcement, reducing the tax rate claimable, the Treasury Ministers have announced a transitional rate of Gift Aid, made up of 20% basic rate and a 2% transitional relief, to run for three years from 2008/09. As a result this means if you donate £10 and sign a gift aid declaration we can reclaim an additional £2.20.

Volunteering

The Sussex Horse Rescue Trust requires dedicated and caring people, preferably with some experience, to work with, and help care for, our 90+ horses, ponies and donkeys. The day to day care of our equines can be hard but rewarding.

Sponsorship

Our current horses, ponies and donkeys all have varied and, regrettably, tragic past histories. Your sponsorship will help us care for them. On receipt of your cheque we will send you a case history with photo on your sponsored animal plus seasonal SHRT Newsletters throughout the sponsor year.

Donate

We are desperate for your support. We are continuing our refurbishment programme, as and when funds allow. We also need to continue to care and support our resident equines as well as those out on loan.

We have 14 equines on our sponsorship list. All have a history leading to their arrival at the Trust. Your sponsorship helps the Trust in their upkeep. All sponsored animals are stabled on our open days for you to visit. » More

We have a successful charity shop at 6 New Broadway, Tarring Road, West Worthing. This shop is totally run by Volunteers and relies on donations of clothes, bric-a-brac and small pieces of furniture
